Are your assets, including your house, worth £312,000 or more?

If you fit into one of the above categories, then Inheritance Tax mitigation should be of concern to you, and you probably need some advice.

Basically, if the value of your estate (that is the assets you personally hold when you die, minus your liabilities) is more than £312,000 (or £624,000 for married couples and civil parners), any excess over this will be liable to inheritance tax (IHT) at 40%

This is a frightening thought, especially given the recent increases in house prices.

Making a Will is one of the most thoughtful things a person can ever do. Sadly, not enough people realise the distress and disruption that can be caused for a family when someone dies intestate - without a Will.....
